The police in Rivers State have arrested a man for allegedly killing an eight-year-old girl in the state for ritual purpose. The police spokesperson in the state, Omoni Nnamdi, said in a statement issued on Saturday that Ifeanyi Dike, 23, allegedly abducted the little girl, Chikamso Victory, on Friday.

Police said a truck exploded outside the Safari Hotel in the K5 neighborhood, which is populated with government officials, stores, and restaurants. Two hours later, another bomb was detonated in the Medina district.


The New York Times reports that a former Somali internal security minister, Abdirizak Omar Mohamed, said that 237 were killed in the attack, adding that the death toll could rise.


President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed declared three days of mourning and called on Somali citizens to help the victims. The president donated blood on Saturday.
