Noisy . 90s, the Most Watched Kenyan Music Videos was at a very low point. This was on account of diminishing sales and competition from pirates. Existence of the pirates meant like a singer you could not get a money back from your recorded music. This discouraged many people from recording and as a result just a couple songs were produced. From the mid-90s, several factors came into being and adjusted the Kenyan music scene. One of the main factors that caused modifications is the remove of business Radio stations. As the the air showed up, there was sought after for prime quality songs. Initially, these radio stations played a good amount of western music such as reggae, raga, hip-hop, dancehall, and American R&B. As people got shown the western culture, music production studios was required to develop new techniques and tools that could allow them to produce songs that were nearly as good as those manufactured in western countries. To accomplish this, the music producers were required to take advantage of computers, software, mixing boards along with other tools. Introduction of such tools made music production less costly and also the music produced was high quality. The majority of the music produced currently was packaged in cassettes although there was an audio track that has been packaged in CDs. As technology developed, multi-track layering took over as tool of the new strain of independent producers who had been recording straight away to computer hard disks for guitars, drum machines, keyboards along with other synthesized sounds. Through the late 90s, Kenyan music had grown tremendously and new production houses had emerged. New singing groups also showed up and commenced singing in styles that were largely inspired by the western culture. To present a Kenyan touch, the music producers had to add Kenyan melody and instrumentation within the music.
