The importance of death records like Nevada Death Records Checks Nevada Death Records could not be understated. As the official records of the government, these are the best records that one could present in order to prove the happening of the event, which in this case would be the death of the person named in the record. Of course, one may ask why there is a need to prove the death of a person, and the answer to that would be because death is something that would affect not only the people who are acquaintances and members of the family of the deceased, but also, at least in theory, the whole world.

The reason for that is because death is something that terminates the civil personality of a person, and such termination is binding upon the whole world. This means that the deceased could no longer enter into any valid contracts and could not validly own property. At the same time, the records should place the whole world in notice that the deceased had indeed died and, theoretically, should place them on guard against entering into any agreement with a person who claims that he or she is the deceased, thus, the records could serve as a means to prevent people from entering into any agreement with a person who had stolen the identity of the deceased.

Death records are not public records for they are not available to the general public. The law identifies certain persons who may make the request and they are typically limited to the members of the family of the deceased such as his or her spouse, children, descendants, ascendants, and legal guardians who may or may not be members of the family. At the same time, it must be noted that these records enjoy the presumption of regularity such that the person who would claim that the records are false would have the burden of proving such allegation in accordance with the maxim that he who alleges must prove by competent evidence.

Copies of death records are available at both the state or national level and the local or county level. At the state level, the records only go back to the year 1911, and if the death had occurred earlier than that, the records may be found at the county office of the place where the death had occurred. The procedure to make the request at the national level would be to make the request via mail, while the procedure at the local level would be both through mail and in person.

Copies of Nevada Death Notices may also be found online through the use of privately owned online databases. These online Nevada Death Records Public Access databases are internet based which means that they could be accessed from just about anywhere where there is a substantial internet connection. This means that they are also faster, more efficient, and cheaper in providing information that is substantially the same as that of the official sources; though note that because they are mostly privately owned, they could not be used as official sources.
