It is in the Midwestern part of United States where the state of Ohio is located. Columbus is the capital of the state and largest city. The name Ohio originated from the Iroquois word ohi-yo meaning Great River. Ohio State is historically known by many as the Buckeye State and Ohioans are also known or called as Buckeyes. The United States Census Bureau estimates the population of Ohio State. Figures reflect to almost 11,544,951 as of July 1, 2011. The state government is divided into three groups which are the judicial branch, led by the Supreme Court, the executive branch, led by the governor and the legislative branch, which comprises the Ohio General Assembly. Ohio Revised Code contains all acts passed by the Ohio General Assembly and signed by the governor. The Ohio Revised Code replaced the Ohio General Code in 1953. If the request is not understandable, the record custodian must contact the requester for clearance of the requested record. The record custodian should aid the requester by informing and instructing on how the Department keeps its records. Written request form and proof of identifications are not needed for requests.
