For statistical analyses we used SPSS software version 13.0. The KolmogorovCSmirnov test was used to determine the normal distribution of variables. Values of age, CIMT, OPG, hsCRP were not normally distributed and they were expressed as median (interquartile range C IQR: Q25CQ75) and therefore MannCWhitney test was used to evaluate their association with categorical variables. All the CAPNS1 other variables were normally distributed and their values were expressed as mean (Standard Deviation C SD) and the association with categorical variables was assessed using t-Student test. Spearman correlation coefficient was used to assess the relationship between quantitative parameters. Stepwise multiple linear regression analysis was performed to test the association between CIMT and cardiovascular risk factors. Logistic regression (ENTER) was used to determine the independent predictors for Selleckchem Talazoparib the presence of carotid plaques. A p-value?www.selleckchem.com/products/s-gsk1349572.html normal arterial pressure, but it was not significantly different in smokers (p?=?0.78) in comparison with non-smokers, in patients with hypercholesterolemia (p?=?0.58) compared with those with normal cholesterolemia and in those who were taking statins (p?=?0.86) compared with patients without statin treatment. After the adjustment for age and years since menopause CIMT still correlated with OPG (r?=?0.21, p?=?0.03). OPG correlated with age (r?=?0.20, p?=?0.04) and age since menopause (r?=?0.23, p?=?0.02). After adjusting for age and years since menopause, OPG correlated with BMI (r?=?0.31, p?=?0.002), AC (r?=?0.24, p?=?0.02), hsCRP (r?=?0.25, p?=?0.01), but it did not correlate with SBP (r?=?0.11, p?=?0.33), DBP (r?=?0.12, p?=?0.23), HDL-C (r?=?0.06, p?=?0.58), LDL-C (r?=?0.10, p?=?0.34), TG (r?=?0.01, p?=?0.98), and FPG (r?=?0.08, p?=?0.42).
