Britain is known for its pubs. Pubs are a major domestic symbolization, connected with British culture all over the world. For anyone exploring the great British Isles it is certainly essential to explore at least a few of such places. Upon arrival, a tourist might find herself lost at the gigantic choice of pubs that can be found everywhere, on a lively road, or hidden away in the shadows of a calm alleyway. But pubs, or public houses as they used to be known, that feature a rich and unique origin are truly the most worthwhile to visit, and are a definite must-see. To have a drink at a table that used to be filled by a relevant historical character is most certainly an adventure that will make many unique tales to be told to close friends and family members upon arrival home.

Thavie’s Inn, present in the City of London is one the city’s earliest pubs. The building has recently been in the news after being obtained by Evans Randall Investors. Its beginnings go back to the start of previous thousand years, when the initial building was owned by a rich chap after whom the pub is named. He commended that the estate be left to a church after his loss of life, so it could house learners of assorted positions. Now, it still can be put to use by lawyers. Later on the inn was remodeled into a pub, in the way that we know it today.

Another medieval pub can be found in the state of Norwich, possessed by Unique Pub & Co. It is asserted to be the earliest pub in the city, with a track record that goes as far back as the late eleventh century. It is based next to interesting cultural sceneries, so a person can find enjoyment in a stroll through historical attractions after an excellent pub luncheon. The building that is on site today is, however, not the original one that could be seen back in the eleventh century. The present day building was created five centuries later and had certain aspects added to it, to render it more modern looking.

A pub that can be reported for its historical length of service, owned by Spirit Pub Company, can be found in Wapping. It is said to be one of the earliest riverside taverns, its history dating back to the 15th century and being situated on the shorelines of river Thames. It endured some notorious repute for being located next to an execution site, used to kill nautical thugs. Local customers of this pub included many notable historical characters who found fame in literature and politics. It has replaced its name numerous occasions over the course of its lengthy history, until finally locking down the name under which it is known right now.
