The Extraction Process:

The primary steps – organically grown hemp is extracted with a state of the art CO2 extraction system. It is then winterized to eliminate fats. Next, multiple rounds of rotary evaporation are used to eliminate plant material and other unnecessary components. The extract is then decarboxylated and transformed into crystalline structure with a proprietary post-processing technique. The last steps are to get the extract tested by third party laboratories, package it and get it ready for shipment!

Most third party laboratories prepared to test hemp/cannabis cannot regularly detect cannabidiol (CBD) at the levels in this product. They are more efficient with testing full-spectrum extracts with lower percentages of CBD and other cannabinoids. All Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for our CBD Isolate have thus far ranged from 90%-100% cannabidiol, but we are certain every batch of extract has really been above 99% pure. The extraction procedure is perfectly consistent and repeatable – the third party testing isn’t fairly there yet. This is an business-wide problem that impacts every company offering comparable products.

Integrated in the COA reports is a Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) potency test carried out on a previous batch, showing 99.5% pure CBD. NMR is much more precise than the standard High Stress Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), but because an NMR machine costs millions of dollars, we only have limited access to one at a local university. All NMR tests we’ve performed on our CBD isolate have shown it to be over 99% pure cannabidiol. Also included in the reports is an HPLC test for the current batch.
