A clinically ��stable�� group comprised those patients who arrived without persistent haemodynamic derangement or peritonitis and who underwent further CT evaluation, and an additional subgroup that was investigated with x-ray and ultrasound in the emergency department and who subsequently underwent diagnostic laparoscopy after a planned observation period.
