Whatever the circumstances, I challenge you to find a serious coin collector who cannot recall why and how he got hooked on building a collection of meaningful coins.

An avid coin collector will be able to tell you virtually every piece of history that surrounds any coin in their collection both because they tend to specialize and because knowledge is one of the most important factors when it comes to starting and maintaining a collection of any value or worth.

The same is true for the Army, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard coins that are collected by many. There are POW/MIA coins that are highly collectible. The Commander's Coin of coin shop Thomasville NC Excellence is given to members of the Army and other branches of the military and they are valued collectible military coins.

Beginners and advanced collectors will find books by Jeff Ambio and Q. David Bowers to be very helpful. I have several books by each of these authors.

One type of hobby is collecting, such as, key chain, lunchbox, autograph, stamp, trading card, comic book, postcard, doll, spoon, patch or coin collecting.

Do not forget to thoroughly inspect a particular dealer's policies before returning an item. Make sure that once you receive your coin, immediately inspect it for authenticity or damage. The coin you must have must be just as you ordered and what you expected.

Shortly after the war the mints started to work their way back to the normal composition of the copper cent. In 1944 the mint began to recycle spent shell casings from the war and use them for cent production. Pure copper ingots were combined with the 70% copper shell casings to bring the alloy up to the pre 1943 95% copper, 5% zinc combination. However the same error that happened in 1943 now happened in 1944 and a few steel cents were made when they were all supposed to be copper.

Each entity paints a picture of the future in which their product wins. I see precious metals investing much like stock investing. You don't want to put all your money in one stock, neither do you want to invest all your money in one type of precious metal.
