Electric Thursdays EDM Party With K3vin Envoy and iCandy Party
Giving artists the chance to showcase other angles of their sounds in another environment where talent is the main variable.
K3vin Envoy’s show was nothing short of unstoppable last summer, with a solid progressive house sound week in week out, devilish dancers and lively Italian based crowd, Envoy's following was there for all to see. This year offers up substantially of the same with faultless line ups throughout the summer. Together with the release of Envoy’s new album “Skin Deep”, the booking of K3vin Envoy could have been seen as a slight threat, opening the doors to the more European, deep-based crowd.
K3vin Envoy was outside on the patio, whilst Miss Kitty played in the main room. It was clear upon arrival that there was going to be a stronger contingent of the group from Europe afterward I 'd seen at any music event last year in New York City. What also caught my eye beaming in the doorway was an impressive LCD screen showcasing the way the party went down with slow motion shots made available by iCandy Party, Inc. In more ways than one this was a refreshing teaser of what I was about to observe.
Entering this iCandy Party Event for the first time this year brought back memories of watching many an Ibizan sunrise glimmer on the terrace, whilst having gifted DJ’s having control of my mindset. Heading left onto the patio I really could instantly see developments to the layout, LCD screens of shapes and sizes are put at angles that were crafty and smart to catch the clubber off guard. Vibrant music on symbols were beaming from each screen bringing a shower of colour to the patio, going k3vin-envoy-skin-deep.com effortlessly to K3vin’s variety of dance music.
Excited to see other changes made and knowing that Miss Kitty was in the main room (a favorite of mine from your main room last year) I switched rooms in the hope of more cutting edge tech. My attention was got by LCD screen, before I could digest the sounds. The most daring of them sits above the somewhat DJ booth that is lowered that is new. The room now also puts more emphasis the lighting guys, standing side by side with the DJ in the booth placing those in the limelight they deserve. There appeared to be more of a party vibe in the primary room this year.
It was time to find out what K3vin Envoy had up his sleeve for the terrace. Making my way through the crowd it was clear that there was expectation concerning the sound he would offer up. He got into his groove; the iconic pop sound was around the booth within minutes. Sticking to his status quo of drum routines that were clean and groovy basslines, the very first hour leaned more towards the progressive house orientated tracks. Above all else it was clear that K3vin was ‘in the zone’ as if he was glad of the opportunity given to play the patio. Where Envoy actually came to life, the second hour is. I dropped back to the main room to catch Miss Kitty before I set my sights on a strong stint on the terrace.
