To be honest, I found southern Thailand even worse with respect to the unfavorable aspects than Vietnam. 
I'm not here to make judgments about Vietnam or the Vietnamese. I don't consider everyone in the country is bad or rude. I only have my journey experience to replicate upon. Why would I need to keep in a country that treated me like that? Why would I ever want to go back? I do not care that they tried to overcharge me. It's not in regards to the cash. I'm comfortable to pay extra—a greenback goes loads farther for them than it does for me. 
I wondered if it was simply me. Perhaps I simply had a bad experience and Vietnam was actually superb. Maybe I simply had dangerous luck. Maybe I simply caught folks on an off day.
