Eight healthy men participated in this study. Subject characteristics were as follows: age, 34 �� 9 years; height, 176 �� 6 cm; weight, 80.2 �� 4.2 kg; and body mass index 26 �� 2 kg m-2 (means �� SD). Subjects were not taking medications, were non-smokers, were free of any known cardiovascular, metabolic or neurological diseases and refrained from alcohol, caffeine and exercise for 24 h before the study.
