As a child I loved to read nursery rhymes. I thought the stories had been simple, fun, and easy to learn. They were one of the first books I discovered to read. Now as a preschool teacher I comprehend the value of teaching young kids these rhymes. It introduces them to rhyming, simple parts of a story such as cause and impact, characters, setting, and plot. They are also very catchy.
