Tufts sparse, some shoots clustered; pale green or bluish-gray-green; title= 2152-7806.162550 tillers intra- and extravaginal. Culms 20?0(?0) cm tall. Ligules of reduce culm and tiller leaves usually glabrous abaxially; lades of cauline leaves flag leaf blades folded, with involute margins, moderately thick, moderately firm; sterile shoot blades usually less than 10 cm long, 0.eight? mm wide, all folded with involute margins, sparsely pubescent adaxially. Panicles four?(?) cm extended, erect or nodding, or loosely contracted or open, ovoid to narrowly pyramidal; rachis with two?(?) branches per node; principal branches steeply ascending to ascending, smooth or sparsely to moderately densely scabrous; longest 1?.five(?) cm, with several spikelets per branch. Spikelets lanceolate, not bulbiferous; glumes unequal, gla.S, moderately firm, and of fairly uniform width; the adaxial surfaces, no less than in the vegetative shoot blades with sparse, elongated, weakly-appressed hairs; abaxial veins of intravaginal shoot blades slender to thick, narrower to broader than the intercostal surfaces; plants widespread .........................................................three Blades ca.
