Both of these studies were conducted in the Phosphoprotein phosphatase same center with one common author (13)?and?(14). Therefore, both used the same cut-off value for defining a cyst which is 10?mm diameter, in contradiction with previous literature which considers a follicle to be cystic only when its diameter is larger than 3?cm. In addition, a cyst of that small size (>10?mm) is thought to be both indistinguishable from a follicle, and difficult to follow in successive cycles. Furthermore the explanation of cyst effect which was speculated to be secondary to a mass effect or alteration in ovarian blood flow seems to be invalid with that size. The first study was a retrospective study that addressed the incidence of basal ovarian cysts in patients presenting for ovulation induction and found that one in five patients (17.5%) have a baseline ovarian cyst >10?mm (13). The second study addressed the impact of these cysts on ovulatory events in patients treated with clomiphene citrate, and reported significant reduction. In Bafilomycin A1 cost this later study, the mean ovarian cyst size was 17.4??5.8?mm. Patients in the ovarian cyst group had >80% ovulation rate but still this was significantly less than those without cysts who had 97.6% ovulation rate. This ovulation rate in patients with cyst, despite being significantly lower than the other group, was higher than literature about CC response. Pregnancy rates were comparable (4.8% versus 11.9%, p?Ponatinib Abdrabbo, participation in supervision of clinical work, professor Mohamed Hussein Khalil, participation in study design, supervision of clinical work, drafting and finalizing the manuscript; Mervat Sheikh Elarab Elsedeek, acquisition and analysis of data, Ahmed Samy Elagawany. The trial was performed in accordance with the declaration of Helsinki, and subsequent revisions, and approved by the ethical institutional review board (IRB) of Alexandria faculty of medicine. Written informed consent was obtained from all included cases before entering in study. The study did not receive any funding from any organization or pharmaceutical company, and no conflict of interest with any authority is involved in the study.
