Here's an important warning for all third-celebration sellers on the Amazon marketplace.

Changing your bank account information at a time when the retail giant has just rolled out a new security measure may result in the suspension of your seller account.

To shield you and other third-celebration sellers from persistent hackers, Amazon has come up with a Two-Step Verification (two-SV) which adds an additional layer of security to your account.

So at the moment, the company does not welcome any modifications which you may make to your bank account particulars noncompliance will lead to your account's suspension.

Sellers whose accounts have been suspended had to wait for hours or even weeks to be reinstated.

There are various reasons why you would want to change the information on your bank account, but holding it off for the time becoming will serve you nicely.

Closing your current account and opening a new 1 could be worse, so steer clear of doing this at all expenses.

Even though other sellers are gloating that they have effectively updated their bank accounts and not faced any repercussions at all, a bigger percentage of whom are now crying over spilt milk.

In case your bank has performed a system upgrade and automatically changed your bank account number, it would be sensible to ask them if they could possibly activate your new number when the dust has settled.

Do not let Amazon spot a discrepancy in the bank account which you've linked to your seller account, or else you will be suspended with out prior notification.

Amazon's additional layer of protection

By enabling Amazon's 2-SV in your Seller Central account, you will make the job of hackers extremely tough, if not ineffective.

The extra security layer will need you to enter a safety code aside from your login particulars when you sign in to your account.

You can receive the security code via e-mail, text message or an authenticator app from Google which is downloadable to your phone.

Amazon encourages all sellers on their marketplace to allow two-SV the soonest time that they can so that they can stop any potential attacks that might come their way.

Beneath is an excerpt from the message of Amazon Seller Assistance:

"We know there are bad actors out there, and whilst I cannot speculate on their motives, we believe the use of 2-SV is a crucial safety measure that sellers should allow and maintain in their toolbox with out waiting until June 30th when it becomes a requirement."

If you haven't enabled two-SV in your Seller Central account yet, head over to the Help & Consumer Service page on the Amazon web site and follow the actions there.

Some sellers say the sign-up procedure was fast and simple, but to other people it was nightmarish.
