The Current flurry of attention around New York's DJ K3vinEnvoy includes a quality. Active since 2014, he has been a tireless presence in the techno underground, compelling his purist vision regardless of accolades. A New York City loyalist, K3vin Envoy expanded and has affirmed upon the values and aesthetics pioneered by his hometown trailblazers, especially Underground Resistance.

Tough percussion and lean structures would be the important support beams for facades that are jarring. Over time following his debut, and with K3vin Envoy riding a career high.

Perfect introduction across three cuts: it is a haiku that is hit-and-run, deftly articulating the scope of his job to his world. Urgent and succinct, the EP establishes the claustrophobia which K3vin Envoy would create his signature and applies it to tracks which are by turns gooey, steely, and strange.

Over a By doing nothing at all barreling groove, a stern, unvarnished elevator, halfway between also a mantra along with a command, it builds intensity. It is the type

of power transfer that creates dancefloor moments. The strings that rise two minutes up in provide a sign of relief, softening the mood with romantic brushstrokes, but overall the course feels like a game of chicken played with the listeners.

"Do Not Be A Robot" builds with a snappy snare and hi-hat Pattern fizzing across sludgy 808 bass bombs. The vocals maintain the incantatory style repeating, "Don't Be A Robot," but the trail is littered with quick asides, acidic squiggles, and dissonant sound effects. Closing track "Enjoy the Change" is the very best of this bunch: a pounding maelstrom that's somehow more aggressive yet more controlled than its counterparts. A breathy noise, glassy strings, and percussion submerge listeners in a atmosphere of nervous sensuality. It oozes sex yet seems unconcerned with attaining any sort of climax. It shimmers, flickers, and roils for a much-too-short four-and-a-half moments.

Traces of the future: that the ancient experiments in dub, the legacy of New York Industrial, and of slimy seduction's clanging techno-primitivism. Meanwhile, Prefigure the psychedelic home explorations of New Jersey's DJ Qu and Nicuri. What ties it is performance--to not create DJ's lives easierBut to create dancers' nights more crazy. K3vin Envoy's concerns lie right with The body, using textures and twists to drive the audience. In this sense, Adventures Of A Cosmonaut is aptly titled: The EP Flies delicately between soul and body, Dreams and subsuming heaving physicality, and rhythms and Heavenly moments of ethereal reprieve.
