Several Japanese and European automakers believe the obvious way to reduce the level of pollution in the air is to build hybrid cars.
There exist fifteen naval ships that inflict more harm to the environment than all 750 million cars that exist on the road today. It's unbelievable that one giant transport ship is able to dirty the environment as fifty million cars. But the government is expending their time looking to find ways to reduce the pollution coming from cars in the city. The Japanese producers from Toyota had an idea in 1990. [federalprism.tumblr.com website] wanted to have a car that did limited damage to environmental surroundings. The car these designers created was the Prius and it was among the first hybrid cars on the market but overall sales have not been successful.
Even though the Prius has been breaking sales records in the United States, it's been having difficulties in the European and Japanese markets. Sales and profits of hybrid cars in general account for fewer than 1% of total car sales in Europe.
The adoption of hybrid cars in Europe has not been readily accepted like the United States. The buyers are not inspired to buy those cars and often they are also expensive. The one "bonus" made available with the majority of the European states is the removal of the pollution tax for those cars. But the price difference between hybrids and regular cars with the same scale are pretty big.
The hybrids are mainly acquired by individuals with secondary studies, such as attorneys, engineers, and medical professionals, according to Toyota. They like these cars because of the low gas consumption. A good example would be the Lexus RX 450h SUV which has 300 horsepower but it uses significantly less gas than your typical 1.4 liter car.
A lot of car manufacturers today have their own lines of hybrid cars, like Opel has the Ecoflex, Ford has the EcoNetic line, and Volkswagen has the BlueMotion line. This kind of trend is also seen in the case of diesel vs. gas. Although diesel autos also consume a smaller amount fuel, diesel fuel has a tendency to cost more per liter than regular gasoline. Statistics demonstrate that the average European likes their cars to run on gasoline, as those cars are usually stronger and cheaper.
The Americans and also the Japanese just weren't huge enthusiasts of hybrid cars, as the first models appeared on their markets, as the Bluetec from Mercedes, was considered to be toxic and cancer causing. However the trucks out of the 80's still exist on the road these days in Europe and in America and they create more harm than any of the newer cars.
The 3rd model of the Prius gives off the same CO2 emission as the diesel Smart Car at 89 grams per kilometer but is a much bigger car. Plus the Prius is actually the only hybrid that can operate on electricity only for 1 kilometer with a speeds up to 50 kilometers and all for a price of 30,000 Euro.
