Crimon Java or Karimun Java / Karimunjava (Indonesian: Karimunjawa / Karimun Jawa) is an archipelago of 27 islands in the Java Sea, Indonesia, around Eighty kilometres northwest of Jepara. The islands' name means 'a stone's throw from Java' in Javanese. They have a overall land area of 78 km2. The primary island is recognized as Karimun (2,700 ha), and the second-biggest island is an island named Kemujan (1,400 ha).




In 2011, the citizen of the island group was approximately 9,000 who lived on five of major islands. The population is mostly Javanese, with pockets of Bugis and Madurese occupants. Javanese ethnic heritage is very dominant in the islands which are the only islands off Java where Javanese is the lingua franca.
