Crimon Java / Karimun Java / Karimunjava (Indonesian: Karimunjawa / Karimun Jawa) is an archipelago of 27 islands in the Java Sea, Indonesia, approximately Eighty kilometres northwest of Jepara. The islands' name means 'a stone's throw from Java' in Javanese. This archipelago have a total land area of 78 km square. The major island is known as Karimun (2,700 ha), and the second-biggest island is Kemujan (1,400 ha).




In 2011, the citizen of this archipelago was approximately 9,000 who lived on 5 of the islands. The people is mostly Javanese, with pockets of Bugis and Madurese people. Javanese culture is very dominant in the islands which are the sole islands off Java where Javanese is the lingua franca.
