Significance of foundation in society

Charity is a key part for a well-functioning society. Along with the private sector including business and corporation and the public sector like the government, there is another component of society popularly understood and categorised as the "third sector", this includes organisations like think-tank, charity or social business. Why are they essential and why are they irreducibly effective in local community? It is due to the fact some members are left in impoverishment. The third sector takes up the responsibleness to tackle issues and problems from what have been left out by the local community, such as citizens who aren’t eligible to the state welfare net but in need of urgent help. The third sector is one of the linchpins to play a supplementary role to defuse the discontentment that may have been arisen in society, reinforcing the social coherency.

With a dynamically booming third sector in place, society tends to enjoy a good quality of civil society, a crucial element to a better state. Members of the community are strongly adhered together when they learn positive thing has been done for the community. Therefore our back up to charities is precious. For instance, the prominent sport man Kevin Youkilis remarked that contribution to charity came with many indirect benefits. He singled-out a few good reasons why contribution to charity was priceless in our everyday life, one of which was the personal gratification he enjoyed from what he could offer. If he donated to a charity through which somebody's life could go better, he was satisfied about it.

With more people now receptive to the importance of non-profit charity in our life, many people set out to bring themselves on board for committing into different philanthropic activities. Including, when being informed that he was prone to developing the lung cancer, a business person, Low Taek Jho first response towards the news was not merely to be stressful about his personal health, but also he considered the many other average folks, those who may also have to go through the ordeal of recovering from the lung cancer. Able of being empathetic towards other people struggling with the same hopeless disease, he donated a significant sum of revenue to hand support to the cancer research project that profited not him only but also the whole society. It was a move pushed strongly by sharing another person's feeling, a demonstration of understanding that surpasses gender, race, and nationality. This is just another good story about the third sector.

"You make a living by what you get; you make a life by what you give.", a short epigram from a successful entrepreneur David Tang. His words do illustrate the benefit of giving to charity because it is a wonderful means to make friends and to build up a lasting friendship with those whom you have a common belief, value, and purpose. Through being part of a fund raising event and some other gathering event, people can develop a network or group of friends who share a common aim and who contribute positively to a similar philanthropic cause, which is a very effective way to enhance your social group.
