Lately we completed installing the training room for a extremely busy nearby company. The size was about 20 feet deep by 40 feet across. The classroom is used nearly every day. Their seating set up was 2 rows of long tables and chairs. We used an electric screen 120" diagonal which was 114" wide. Although the screen has a remote control, the company wanted a wall manage for the screen which we installed by the office door. Often times in business applications the remote gets effortlessly lost. The trainer did not want to find himself searching for the remote to get the screen down.

For video we used a 3200 Lumen Hitachi XGA projector. The 3200 lumen projector is adequate for most classroom lighting circumstances but if you want full lighting and a decent picture, a 4000 Lumen projector would be much better. In this room, we can turn the front lights out to stop direct lighting on the screen yet left a row of rear lighting for students to read printed material and create in the manuals. The 3200 Lumen projector we used was a Hitachi CP-X3015WN. The projector was mounted on the ceiling 12 feet back from the screen.

All of the gear was installed in a closet in the rear of the room. For HDMI Switching, Video Up-converting, and sound, we used a Pioneer VSX1121K receiver. The receiver switches all inputs to the output which then goes to the projector by a 25 foot HDMI Cable.

The inputs we utilized were an HDMI wall jack in the front of the room wired back to the receiver HDMI-1 Input. A DVD player was connected by an HDMI Cable. A VHS VCR was nonetheless required and connected via the AV-1 Video which the receiver up-converts to HDMI. In addition the front HDMI jack on the Pioneer was accessible for HDMI connection in the rear of the room. Because the trainer chooses to leave the closet door open during training, the remote controls all worked from the trainers desk. The instructor could also connect his laptop to the HDMI wall jack in the front of the room. This instructor used a VGA with Audio converter from his laptop to the HDMI wall jack.

We installed 4 In-Ceiling speakers. One speaker was installed in every quadrant of the room. This gave the room balanced sound and uniformed volume throughout the room.

This training room is the perfect answer for their needs utilizing the laptop, DVDs, and even VHS tapes. The picture on the screen was excellent. I would venture to say that for this company and this instructor, this training room design and installation was perfect.
